Why a water-based lube feels different

Water-based means it plays nicely with your body and washes out of everything. No oily residue, no stain on the sheets, no scrubbing your toys afterwards.

Most water-based lubes dry out on you halfway through. Ours holds on longer, because the kiwi fruit skin extract and galactoarabinan hold the moisture in. And when it does start to go, a splash of water brings the slip straight back.

What's inside: 11 ingredients, all of them on the label

NZ-grown hemp seed oil. Our hero. Grown here, and the reason this feels different to most water-based lubes.

Aloe vera. Hydrating and gentle. It's most of why it feels silky rather than slippery.

Kiwi fruit skin extract and galactoarabinan. Both plant-derived. They hold the moisture in so it doesn't go tacky on you halfway through.

Acacia and xanthan gum. These give it body. Without them you'd have water.

Citric and lactic acid. They keep the pH where your body likes it, between 3.8 and 4.5.

Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate. Two natural preservatives. Any water-based product needs them, and we'd rather tell you they're in there than pretend otherwise.

Aqua (Water), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Galactoarabinan, Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi Fruit) Skin Extract, Citric Acid, Lactic Acid, Acacia Senegal Gum, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate.

How to use a water-based lubricant

As much or as little as you like. Reapply any time. There's no right amount.

If it starts to dry, add water. A splash or a spritz brings the slip straight back.

Cleans up with a warm cloth. No oily residue, no ruined sheets.

Patch test first if your skin is sensitive or you have known allergies.

What people say

Natural lube questions, answered

What is Come Clean made of?

A water base, with NZ-grown hemp seed and aloe vera. It's pH-balanced, glycerin-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free, and vegan. The full ingredient list is further up this page.

Is it safe to use with condoms?

Come Clean is compatible with polyurethane and nitrile condoms. We do not recommend it for use with latex or polyisoprene condoms, because the hemp seed oil can weaken them. This one matters, so please don't skip it.

Can I use it with toys?

Yes. It's friendly with silicone-based sex toys, and it rinses off easily afterwards.

Is it safe after having a baby?

Lots of our customers reach for it post-partum because it's gentle and free of the harsher stuff. As always, if you've had any complications or you're unsure, have a quick chat with your midwife, GP, or pelvic health physio first.

Will it stain?

It's water-based, so it washes out of fabric easily with warm water. No oily residue.

Does it have a taste or smell?

It's fragrance-free, so there's no added scent.

How long does a bottle last?

That depends on how you use it, but a 100ml bottle goes a long way. A little does the job.

Where do you ship?

All over New Zealand, with Australia available at checkout. See our Shipping & Delivery page for the details.
